2 Faced

Sonia was the most beautiful person that walked the corridors of the hospital. She was young and friendly and would do just about anything for any member of staff above or below her pay grade. She had been a nurse now for several years and seemed to really enjoy her job. She would come off a ward with high hopes that the elderly people she were helping were going to pull through and still smiled after telling patients families bad news. Although Sonia was never available, it didn’t stop any of the male staff from inviting her out. Even the female staff were really good friends with Sonia. She had given some of them cash when they were stuck and offered one nurse her sofa for a few nights when they had been kicked out by their landlord. She would pull double shifts to help out the nurse with kids and what amazed everyone is that she never asked for anything in return. Now, you would wonder if she might have been a little bit gullible, but she helped so many people and they had so much respect for her, they knew not to take advantage. She was called 'a rare diamond' by almost everyone and Sonia loved the fact they thought this.
Nurse Evans on the other hand was the complete opposite. When she would walk onto a ward, patients would pretend to sleep to avoid any kind of contact from her. She would know exactly what they were doing and proceed to jab and poke them until they 'woke up' anyway. She would look at their charts see what was wrong with them and either ignore the instructions, change their notes to say they are not co-operating or make fun of their illness. She would get mad if a wheelchair bound patient needed the toilet and would often let them soil themselves then tell the doctors on call they didn’t tell her. No one would believe half of her patients as many had dementia or were just too afraid to speak out. She would write down they had taken medication when they weren’t given any and if someone was nil by mouth she would force polo mints down their throats from her pocket. A few of her patients died under her care but she was so convincing to the rest of the staff that the patients just wouldn’t take their medicine that she didn’t even so much as get a disciplinary for it. She was careful too. She never killed patients close together and didn’t get a lot of joy out of it anyway. She preferred to torment them emotionally. Let them know that when they dies their family wasn’t going to be told. She would tell them how they wouldn’t even cry for them and they would be better off without them. She would pinch and bruise them in places people wouldn’t see and if they did she would tell them that they fell out of their beds or they must have banged it on the rail. Nurse Evans was not a nice nurse at all but the worst thing is she got away with it every time.

It’s hard to believe that a hospital would not notice the extremities of different practices between their nurses or that these awful things were happening to the patients was going unnoticed by other members of staff. It was most disbelieving that one of the most well liked nurses within the hospital, the lovely Sonia was in fact the same awful Nurse Evans. Miss Sonia Evans. Now just how did someone become so 2 faced?
